Re: Important Critical Disease Symptoms 

Hopefully these disease indicators will help your clients and families. 

 

Heart Attack Signs: 

1. Feelings of indigestion that continue even after taking an antacid pill ( tums, roll aides, alkaseltzer).
2. Severe chest pain ( the feeling that an elephant is on your chest)
3. Short of Breath
4. Flu symptoms
5. Severe sweating

Stroke Symtoms: 

1. The face appears to droop or slack

2. Ask the person to extend both arms in front of them.  If one arm drops to their side, this can be a sign.

3. Speech slurred

4. Ask the person to repeat a short sentence and they have difficulty

If any of the above symptoms occur, call 911 immediately.
